The ever heated political campaigns in the country have denied Kenyans the deserved development.

Youth activists from Mombasa County have criticised politicians for raising the political temperatures, political dividing the country.

Led by youth lobby, Kadzandani Creative Youth Organisation (KCYO) Coordinator Omar Chai, the youth activists noted that politicians have not set critical time to work for Kenyans but instead conducting endless political campaigns to secure their elective seats in 2027 general elections.

Chai said early politics are only depriving Kenyans of development at the very grassroots level.

Chai cautioned Kenyans against backing such selfish leaders and instead floor them when the right time comes.

“For the last two years we have been witnessing political bickering and heated campaigns in preparation for the 2027 general elections, who will focus on development?” noted Mr Chai

He further noted that that the country is facing drastic challenges in almost all the sectors.

“We are a hopeless nation. Kenyans are not getting proper medication, universities are crumbling, confusion has marred the CBE system, most companies have shut down rendering thousands of Kenyans jobless according to the Federation of Kenya Employers. With all these do we have the time to dance and clap for these greedy politicians?” posed the youth activist.

His sentiments were equally shared by Wiper Party Women Democrats National Chairperson Millicent Odhiambo who reiterated the need for politicians to go back to their electorates and serve them deligently before its too late.

Odhiambo noted that the country is facing a tough situation, however, no one is willing to overhaul the situation to cater for Kenyans needs.

“Since the last General elections in August, 2022 we have never rested we are a truly politicking nation, no development agenda, none of the politicians is going back to engage locals on development issues,” said the politician.

Odhiambo who vied for the Nyali Parliamentary seat in 2022 General polls but lost to the current MP Mohammed Ali, noted that the country is headed to the wrong direction.

“Unless we change as a country and Kenyans start electing good leaders with merits and vision, we will never walk out of the sad state of affairs we are currently in,” added Ms Odhiambo.
