CNN International has announced the launch of Seasons, a new multiplatform series exploring global trends across fashion, food, travel, technology, design and art.

The series debuts on Saturday, September 6, 2025, with its first 30-minute episode hosted by Japanese model and creative director Hikari Mori. It will air quarterly on CNN International alongside short digital explainers and interactive social media content.

The opening episode focuses on Japan’s influence on global culture, featuring exclusive access to renowned artist Takashi Murakami’s Tokyo studio as he prepares for an exhibition in Seoul. It also highlights traditional textile artisans, sensory tea rituals, and the fusion of heritage with modern innovation in Japanese aesthetics.

Ellana Lee, CNN’s Group Senior Vice President and Global Head of Productions, said the series will capture the evolving tastes shaping global culture.

“From exclusive collaborations and underground movements to immersive experiences and viral editions, Seasons captures what’s resonating right now,” she said.

Mori said she was honoured to host the programme.

“In Japan, the seasons hold a central place in daily life—whether in art, food culture, colours or fabrics,” she said. “I believe we can live more meaningfully by observing how Japanese artisans create in harmony with seasonal cycles.”

The second episode of Seasons, set to air in December, will focus on Europe and feature a new host with a spotlight on the UK.

Broadcast times for the premiere episode vary across regions, including 6:30 a.m. BST and 1:30 p.m. HKT on September 6. Full schedules are available on cnn.com/seasons.
