Kenya Airfreight Handling Limited (KAHL), a market leader in temperature-controlled logistics, has today announced a transformative partnership with Lift Cargo Limited, a fast-rising local player in the perishables supply chain. This collaboration is poised to redefine global distribution standards for fresh produce by strengthening the cool chain from farm to market.

The strategic alliance brings together KAHL’s cutting-edge cold storage infrastructure and Lift Cargo’s robust client network, promising a seamless logistics experience that preserves product freshness, reduces waste, and boosts export quality.

“Our partnership with Lift Cargo is a pivotal step forward. By combining our advanced cool chain capabilities with Lift Cargo’s strong market reach, we aim to drastically reduce spoilage and enhance the overall quality of Kenya’s perishable exports,” said Peter Musola, acting general manager at KAHL, during a press briefing in Nairobi.

Kenya’s horticultural sector is a critical pillar of the national economy, generating over Ksh157 billion (approximately USD 1.29 billion) in annual export earnings, according to the Agriculture and Food Authority (AFA). Notably, flowers account for more than 70% of these exports, with Europe remaining the primary destination.

“Kenya’s horticulture industry is essential to our economic growth,” Musola added. “This partnership underscores our commitment to supporting local farmers and exporters through world-class logistics solutions.”

Silas Kashindi, Managing Director of Lift Cargo Limited, echoed this sentiment. “We are excited to join forces with KAHL. This collaboration will streamline our operations, open new market opportunities for growers, and increase the value they derive from their products.”

Both companies emphasise innovation and continuous improvement in the perishable supply chain, sharing a mission to ensure that consumers worldwide enjoy the freshest produce possible. This initiative aligns with KAHL’s broader vision of becoming East Africa’s leading fresh cargo handling hub—delivering service marked by precision, transparency, and care.
