Human rights defenders were on Friday chased away by Tanzanian police officer at the Horohoro border along the Kenya-Tanzania border in Lungalunga, Kwale county. A journalist, Shaban Shoka from Nyota TV was arrested detained for about four hours before he was released. They were warned against entering Tanzania without permit. The three human right defenders and the journalists were heading to Tanzania on a fact finding mission over the disputed October, 29, 2025 polls where President Samia Suluhu Hassan is slated for a big win against her opponents whom she had detained in police cells.
