Huge fire gutted down a section of the Mombasa County water services company offices along Nkrumah road.
The fire razed down various offices of the company leaving a destruction of unknown value.
Confirming the incident, Urban OCPD, Maxwell Agoro said there was a swift operation to contain the situation.
“Emergency response team from the Kenya Ports Authority, the Kenya Navy and the Mombasa County fire department moved into action and contained the situation,” noted Mr Agoro.
Mombasa Water and Sewerage Company (MOWASCO), Eng. Farah Abdirahim assured customers that there will be no halt or disruption of services following the incident.
“We have adequate backing systems of all the documents and the fire incident will not disrupt the normal operations at the MOWASCO offices. We are evaluating the cost of damages and plan for the necessary repair works ahead,” he said.
Mombasa County Government fire and emergence response team lead by Chief Officer, Ibrahim Basafar also attended to the scene containing the huge fire.
No casualties were reported during the Saturday evening incident.
