The youthful generation famously known as Gen-Z on Sunday sent Nairobi based Jesus Winners Ministry Church congregation into panic after they barricaded road leading to the church.

Jesus Winner Ministry church led by Bishop Edward Mwai was the recipient of President William Ruto’s 20 million shillings, a move that did not go well with the youth.

Police were forced to lob teargas to disperse the peaceful protesters who said they wanted to ‘attend the Sunday service’ at Bishop Mwai’s Thika road based church.

Anti-riot police remained vigilant patrolling the church surrounding so as to avert any situation that would threaten the security of the bishop and his congregation.

At least 38 protesters were arrested after they lit bonfires barricading the road heading to the Jesus Winner Ministry Roysambu Church.

Meanwhile Bishop Edward Mwai of Jesus Winner Ministry Church Roysambusays he has forgiven Kenyans who have been shuttering him down on social media after he accepted President William Ruto’s Ksh20 million.

“People have been calling me sort of names on the social media. I have forgiven them and I pray that God fogives them too. However, am happy that am now known to many Kenya s through such efforts,” saidBishop Mwai.

With the #OccupyJesusWinner efforts triggered by Bishop Mwai’s having accepted President William Ruto’s Ksh20 million,  the youth have vowed to press on, saying that religious leaders remain Kenyans hope and they should not be lured to such political gimmicks.

“We are not yet done with him. We started with sending him ‘Salaams’ until he changed his phone number. We are waiting for the newly registered mobile number, we will jam it with phone calls,” said the protesters.

Immediately after receiving the Ksh20 million from President Ruto, the youth with their famous phrase ‘asalimiwe’ which means greetings jammed Bishop Mwai’s mobile phone leaving the man of God confused and perplexed.

The Bishop has since forgiven those trolling him online and appealed to police to release those arrested outside his church in Roysambu.

Police lob teargas at Roysambu Roundabout, Nairobi, to disperse youths who had gone to Occupy Jesus Winner Chapel Ministry.

The Gen-Z decided to go and worship at Jesus Winners Chapel at Roysambu and to seek answers as to why Bishop Mwai accepted 20 Million shillings from President Ruto.

The protests also led to the shutdown of Roysambu roundabout-briefly though-as motorists avoided driving through the area.

Meanwhile President Ruto has vowed to continue ‘giving to the church’ caring less the Kenyans disapproval.
