Tears rolled freely down the cheeks of a renowned Comedian Eric Omondi during the burial of his young brother Fred Omondi.
Eric, an established top comedian in the country and East Africa could not hold back the pain as he watched the casket being lowered down the grave in their rural home in Sega, Siaya County.
The burial was attended by Azimio leader Raila Odinga and Siaya Governor, James Orengo among other top comedians and content creators in the country.
MC Jesse, Telence Creative, Amba Ray and Chipkizy were among the many dignitaries who graced the burial ceremony.
All the Content creators, Comedians and players in the entertainment and laugh industries mourned Fred in their own style.
Fred Omondi, a beloved figure in the Kenyan Comedy scene, died in a devastating accident on June, 15, 2024 along the Kang’undo road, Nairobi.
The autopsy details explained that Fred sustained serious injuries when the Bodaboda he was riding on collided head on with a matatu, killing him instantly.
The rider also died later in hospital.
“His skull was severely cracked. He sustained multiple injuries allover his body that led to his demise,” said one of the laugh industry Board members Ken Waudo.
Fred’s spine was also injured during the early morning accident in Nairobi.
Eric, painfully mourned his brother, appreciating those who contributed for Fred’s befitting send off.
“My Dear brother has left an empty soul in me. He was very close to me and we have always engaged each other from our childhood to adulthood in various matters. He was everything to me,” said a vividly pained Omondi.
At some point he made the mourners laugh after he mentioned about some ladies who have started coming out claiming they had sired children with the deceased.
