Two people died and 9 others critically injured after Tahmeed bus Coach they were travelling in was involved in tragic road accident along Kisumu-Busia highway on Friday afternoon.
The bus, according to police experienced tyre burst before hitting an oncoming fuel tanker and burst into flames.
11 passengers were burnt however, two of them died on the spot at the Mundika market accident on Friday afternoon. The bus was heading to Mombasa from Busia.
Busia County officials and the Kenya Red Cross Society (KRCS) disaster management team managed the situation.
Busia County Commissioner Mwachaunga chaunga confirmed that the fuel tanker driver and a female passenger in the bus were burnt beyond recognition.
In February 2024, A Mombasa-Malindi bound Tahmeed bus with 48 passengers burst into flames and burnt to ashes shortly. All passengers were safely evacuated.
In January 2024, A Tahmeed bus headed to Mombasa burst into flames near Voi town, Taita Taveta County. All the pssengers onboard were safely evacuated.

In October 2023, Several passengers were injured when a Tahmeed bus on its way to Nairobi hit an elephant in Maungu, along the busy Mombasa-Nairobi highway.
In February 2019, 25 passengers sustained serious injuries in a road accident along Nairobi-Mombasa Highway at Miasenyi. The Tahmeed bus skidded and overturned.
In March 2018, A Mombasa-Nairobi bound Tahmeed bus was involved in a road accident at Kinyambu in Kibwezi, Makueni county, killing one person on the spot.
