President William Ruto has appointed former government cabinet secretaries he recently fired.
In a statement on Friday evening through the Head of Public Service Felix Koskei, the new appointments will support the Kenya Kwanza’s Bottom Up Economic Agenda (BETA).
Former Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria was named a Senior Advisor in the President’s Council of Economic Advisors while former ICT CS Eliud Owalo appointed as Deputy Chief of Staff in charge of Performance and Delivery Management.
“This ministerial appointment will be responsible for effective and efficient implementation, monitoring and evaluation of priority projects and initiatives of the 5th administration in line with the BETA Plan,” said Koskei.
Ruto’s close ally and digital strategist Dennis Itumbi secured the Head of Creative Economy and Special Projects in the Executive Office of the President.
“The appointments will go into fostering this administration’s zeal of innovation and growth towards a robust yet novel sector in the economic sphere,” noted Koskei.
In July 11, 2024, President William Ruto sent his entire cabinet parking including Owalo and Kuria following weeks of anti-government protests.
