ODM Leader Raila Odinga has in the past few days continued defending his political pact with President William Ruto, however, Kenyans specifically the youthful generation rubbished the Raila-Ruto union.

Since Raila joined President Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza government, he has received major backlash from Kenyans. The recent incident being in Kisii County where he was booed and chased away by football fans at the Gusii Stadium.

Having realised that Kenyans disapproved his political pact with President Ruto, Raila has been criss-crossing the country denying that he has joined President Ruto’s, Kenya Kwanza government.

“It is the President who came to me asking for engagement, am not the one who followed him. I am not in Kenya Kwanza government,” the ODM Leader recently stated.

Raila has since been given four cabinet slots in Ruto’s Government and in the past week, he received more powerful positions where his ODM MPs benefitted from various chairmanships of different house committees in the National Assembly.

However, the youthful generation is trashing Railas defense saying he was only expressing his greediness and not the welfare and needs of Kenyans.

“So what is the difference between Raila going to Ruto or the President going to Raila? The difference is the same and the recently signed political pact between Raila and the Kenya Kwanza government through President William Ruto sums it all,” the statement from the youthful generation in Kenya, famously known as the Gen-Z read in part.

Raila’s move was further trashed by his close political foot soldiers Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino and the ODM party Secretary General and Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna.

The two asked Raila to prepare and tackle President William Ruto in the 2027 general election.

However, Raila has been defending himself saying his move to work with Ruto is meant to unite the country.

“We can’t put the government of the day to check when outside. We must be inside the government for us to ensure things work well for all Kenyans,” said Raila.

Raila further disclosed that he will continue pushing for a just regime that will cease abductions and extra judicial killings in the Country.

“Our agenda of ensuring Kenyans get quality services from the government remains on course. If we say the Social Health Authority (SHA) is not properly serving Kenyans and something must be done, that is our mandate to ensure Kenyans get better services from their own government,” he recently reiterated.
