
The media fraternity across the country is mourning the fallen radio Icon Edward Carey Kwach.
The veteran radio host passed away at the age of 44 while undergoing treatment for meningitis.
According to the family, Kwach died following a short illness on Monday, April 28, 2025.
“It is with profound sadness that we announce the untimely passing of our beloved son and brother, Carey, that occurred last night, 28th April 2025, while receiving treatment for meningitis,” reads the family’s statement.
Earlier this month, Kwach was admitted to Coptic Hospital in critical condition. Well-wishers were urged to donate blood to help stabilise the radio personality’s condition.
Until his death, Kwach worked as a radio host at Standard Media Group owned Spice FM. He hosted the spice Drive.

“We are deeply grateful for the outpouring support during his illness, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to all those who donated blood, visited, and kept him in their thoughts and prayers. We kindly ask that you keep our family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Funeral and memorial arrangements will be communicated in due course,” a statement from the family read in part.
