Rowdy youth on Thursday stormed and torched Mawengo police post in Rachuonyo East, Homa Bay County, while carrying the casket bearing the remains of blogger and a teacher, the late Albert Ojwang’.
The youth disrupted all the plans and the convoy transporting the body of the late late Ojwang’, carrying the coffin to the Mawengo police post where Ojwang’ was once detained before he was transferred to Nairobi Central Police station where he died mysteriously.
Viewing of Albert’s body was scheduled at Nyawango Primary School, however, the angry youth halted the whole program after they intercepted the convoy of the slain blogger even before it arrived at the Kokwanyo village on Thursday afternoon.
The youth demanded that Albert’s body be taken to Mawengo Police Station, where he was first detained.
They set the Mawengo police post on fire taking the police flag away while carrying the casket.
The 31-year old blogger and a teacher was arrested in their village in Kakoth, Homa Bay county on June 7, 2025.
