Police hunting for drug trafficker who escaped arrest

Detectives from the Anti-Narcotics Unit stationed at Malindi Police Station, Kilifi County are pursuing a drug trafficker who escaped police arrest.

Morris Ware, a trafficker who managed to evade apprehension left behind a cannabis consignment worth Ksh2.5 million.

Police say they were informed by the public about Ware’s trafficking business.

“The officers immediately invaded his store in Midodoni village. However, the suspect got away after spotting the officers leaving his store unattended,”

In the store, the officers uncovered 86 kilograms of bhang stashed in four sacks, with an estimated street value of Ksh2.5 million.

The recovered narcotic was taken to Malindi Police Station for safe custody as exhibits as the search for the elusive trafficker continues.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations has appealed to the public to volunteer information on any suspicious characters or activities to ensure a safe and secure drug-free environment habitable for all.
