Former Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho has stated that the Coast region is working towards strengthening its unity ready for strong political bargains in the 2027 general elections.
Joho said together with other Coast leaders, he initiated the efforts to unite all the six coastal counties adding that the effort is unstoppable.
The ODM Deputy Party Leader while addressing journalists in Mombasa on Wednesday noted that the Coast region has for years been a ride on for other politicians from different parts of the country, Joho saying that this time round it will be business unusual.
“We started the unstoppable journey and we are pursuing our Coast political dream. Soon you will see us everywhere including outside the Coast region seeking partnership and coalitions in abid to realise our region’s political dream,” noted Joho.
The former Mombasa County Chief urged those tearing off the efforts to equally join in advancing for Coast political rights.
“I stated clearly that I will go for the top national seat in 2027, this journey starts now so that as coastal people we realise our political dream. Other regions are working on their political strategies why not us? No one should tell us its too early for this,” stated Joho.
Recently, Joho was seen traversing the Coast region selling his political agenda at the same time calling for unity among coastal leaders and dwellers.
Joho, noted that the Coast political script will be different in 2027 and nothing will cross the Coast political journey strategy.
His sentiments were backed by Kadzandani Ward MCA Fatuma Swaleh Mote famously known as Fatuma Kushe who termed Joho as a simple charismatic leader with political visions and ambitions.
Ms Kushe noted that Joho has what it takes to become Kenyans 6th president, further urging the Coastal community to back Joho’s political ambitions.
“Ali Hassan Joho is a cabale political leader from the Coast region and who can unite the Coast region and the entire nation. Let’s all back him up so that he fulfills his political dream of becoming Kenya’s 6th president,” noted Ms Kushe.
The MCA appealed to the Coast residents to rally behind Joho’s presidential bid and remain united so that the region has a strong political say as it prepares for the 2027 general election and beyond.
“When we have Coast political leaders at the helm of the Kenya’s politics our chronic problems including the unending land issue will be contained,” noted Ms Kushe.
