Development and governance activist Morara Kebaso has urged Soweto Catholic Church Administration to reject President William Ruto’s 5 million shillings he promised them on Sunday.

Kebaso, said the bait aims at silencing the Catholic church so that it ceases criticizing the failed Kenya Kwanza Administration.

According to the lawyer, the President has developed ways and tactics of silencing the clergy—and by giving them such amounts of—money is just but one way of silencing and pocketing them as well.

In his statement, Kebaso said the project the church is implementing can as well be completed by well-wishers and the faithful—and not by President William Ruto’s attempts to give them such monies in the name of ‘helping the church’.

On Sunday, while attending Holy mass at the church, and later addressed locals in the area, President Ruto stated that he will give the church a total of five million shillings to enable the church administration complete a house project for the resident Father.

Political tactic

Though the congregation praised Ruto for the gesture, Kebaso says it is just nothing but a way of stopping the church from criticising his failed government.

“I urge the Soweto Catholic Church Administration to not to give in to President William Ruto’s bait. It is not meant for any good,” said Mr Kebaso.

He urged the church to stand still and defend Kenyans against the wrath of corrupt Kenya Kwanza government.

Kebaso, a lawyer by profession, noted that the church plays a major role and as a voice for the voiceless.

“We all see our religious leaders as important leaders in the country and the moment they give in to these lies from the government, they will plunge the whole country into a state of hopelessness,” he further stated.

Kebaso has been moving to various counties in the country, engaging locals in civic education and further urging Kenyans to prepare and clean the pathetic leadership the country is currently witnessing.

He said the country needs an in-depth civic education so that Kenyans make very informed choices in future elections.

Kebaso, has become a darling to many Kenyans through his ‘Vampire diaries’ where in unearth several stalled projects in the country that despite having consumed billions of shillings, they remain incomplete.

Most political leaders have criticised Kebaso saying he is being used by the current regime opponents.

“I am not being used by any politician. In fact, I have been helped by ordinary Kenyans who contributes to my venture of civic education and unearthing the rot in the past government and the current Kenyan Kwanza leadership,” stated Mr Kebaso in his defense.

Recently, Kebaso revealed that in the 29 counties he has visited, Kenyans lost over 96 billion shillings through white elephant projects.
