Mombasa Cement offers full scholarship to a stranded bright boy

Mombasa Cement Company has come to the rescue of a minor who scored 400 marks in last years’ KCPE examination but was stranded at home following acute poverty.

The company through its community program head Mumtaz Sayani says the bright boy deserves the best education and that the company will sponsor his entire secondary education and beyond.

Speaking after visiting the family at their Junda home in Mishomoroni, Sayani noted that the family which consist of a mother and a son could not afford their food leave alone school fees, a situation that prompted the company to intervene and put a smile to the two.

The bright pupil scored 400 marks but could not join Form one following financial contraints.

“We will over see Clinton’s Muchoka education throughout the four years in secondary school and beyond, he is a very bright and dedicated boy and we will fully support him,” noted Mr Sayani.

The company has been in the forefront in supporting needy families in the Coast region mostly footing hospital bills and sponsoring needy pupils to get education, among other philanthropic gestures.

Speaking after receiving the guest into their one room rented house, Clinton’s mother Eunice Khadiav thanked the sponsors and mostly journalists who highlited their plights enabling well wishers to come through.

“I do not have anything to say am overwhelmed, my only child Clinton will now join Form one and continue with his education,” she stated.

On his part, the now jovial Clinton promised to work hard and get good results.

“I am now happy and I will focus more on my education, I want to be a lawyer,” he promised his sponsors and his only parent.

Sayani says they will buy all the necessary requirements and pay school fees for Clinton to immediately join secondary school.
