Nairobi, October 8, 2025 — Confectionery maker Mars Wrigley Kenya has donated 30 laptops and renovated a computer lab at St. Patrick’s High School in Nairobi, in a move aimed at strengthening digital literacy and access to technology among students.

The initiative forms part of Mars Wrigley’s broader community engagement strategy designed to bridge the digital divide and create opportunities for learners to thrive in an increasingly technology-driven world.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, Mars Wrigley General Manager for Sub-Saharan Africa, Ismael Bello, said the company remains committed to improving educational outcomes through technology and infrastructure support.

“At Mars Wrigley, we believe in making a difference in the communities where we serve, and we recognize that access to digital tools and a conducive learning environment are essential,” said Bello. “Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, explore, and develop their digital literacy, and we are proud to partner with St. Patrick’s High School to create an environment where students can thrive.”

The donation includes 30 laptops that will be integrated into the school’s computer lab for immediate use. The renovated facility now features improved electrical fittings, new furniture, and enhanced connectivity to support digital learning.

St. Patrick’s High School Principal, Madam Prisca Ochieng, thanked the company for its support, noting that the project will have a lasting impact on students’ academic growth and digital readiness.

“Access to technology is critical for learning, research, and career preparation,” said Ochieng. “Your generous support will be instrumental in helping us achieve full digital literacy for our students.”

Mars Wrigley Kenya has continued to invest in education-focused initiatives that expand learning opportunities and empower communities across the country. The company said it plans to extend similar digital empowerment projects to other schools in future.
