Mombasa, Kenya, October 9, 2025-The Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM) has launched its services within Huduma Centres across the country, enhancing accessibility for supply chain professionals and the public.

The launch, held between October 7 and 9, 2025, covers Huduma Centres in Bomet, Nakuru, Eldoret, Nyeri, Garissa, Wajir, Kakamega, and Mombasa. The initiative marks a major milestone in KISM’s efforts to decentralize service delivery and reach its more than 28,000 members nationwide.

KISM Chairman John Karani, MBS, described the launch as a significant step in improving efficiency and convenience for members seeking registration, certification, and professional support.

“The inclusion of KISM services in the Huduma Centre platform simplifies procedures and brings our services closer to the people,” said Mr. Karani. “We are building bridges that connect our members to opportunities and communities, and to a future of efficient and ethical supply chain management.”

Karani noted that the collaboration aligns with the Constitution of Kenya under Article 6 and the KISM Regional Chapters Policy, both emphasizing equitable access to services. KISM has established nine regional chapters — Coastal, Central Rift, Lower Eastern, Nyanza, North Rift, North Eastern, Mt. Kenya, South Rift, and Western — to strengthen grassroots engagement and professional growth.

KISM Chief Executive Officer Kenneth Matiba, said the partnership with Huduma Kenya demonstrates a shared commitment to improving service delivery across sectors.

“This launch is not just an expansion of service points; it’s the culmination of hard work and an understanding of our members’ evolving needs,” said Mr. Matiba. “Accessibility is not a convenience — it’s a necessity for professional development.”

He added that the rollout follows a 2024 KISM Council resolution to improve regional presence and strengthen institutional capacity. Both KISM and Huduma Kenya teams were lauded for their collaboration in making the initiative possible.

Mr. Matiba also confirmed that KISM has trained Huduma Centre staff on its products and services to ensure seamless support for clients seeking assistance.

“We will continue working closely with Huduma Kenya to uphold integrity, professionalism, and sustainability in service delivery,” he said.

According to KISM, integrating its operations into Huduma Centres complements the Institute’s digital transformation agenda, ensuring members can access services both physically and online.

“Through Huduma Centres, we are breaking down geographical barriers and ensuring professionals in all regions can access our services,” said Mr. Karani.

The launch reinforces KISM’s vision of promoting excellence and accountability in supply chain management, a field vital to Kenya’s economic development and public service efficiency.

Matiba urged members to remain engaged with the Institute and uphold high professional standards.

“We encourage our members to stay active, support their professional body, and contribute to the country’s progress,” he said.

Karani concluded by reaffirming KISM’s commitment to continuous improvement in service delivery.

“Together, we are opening a new chapter that brings professionalism closer to the people — and the people closer to progress,” he said.
