Renowned lawyer and a branded development activist, Morara Kebaso has disclosed that over 96 billion shillings was embezzled in various stalled projects in the country.

Kebaso stated that, the figure represents over 70% of the national budget that ended up in few people’s pockets.

The activist who has developed a strong follower across the country with many youth and Kenyans at large backing his investigative series ‘The Vampire Diaries’.

‘The Vampire Diaries’ is a program that analyses various government projects that despite billions of shilings used to implement the program, their is totally nothing to show on the ground. In simply terms, the funds were embezzled.

According to Mr Kebaso who has been a darling to Kenyans following his unrelenting efforts to enlighten the nation on accountability issues in the country reiterates that change in the country will be effected by intensive and extensive civic education up to the very grassroots level.

“We have visited a total of 29 counties countrywide. We have inspected a total of 89 government projects where a total of 137 billion shillings was spent on these white elephant projects,” said the unrelenting Kebaso.

He said out of the 137 billions spent on the hot air projects it is evident that over 96 billion shillings ended up in few people’s pockets since the former and the current regime and the County governments too cannot account for the billions spent on the white elephant projects.

“For us to be successful in thi journey to transform our nation we must invest in civic education and make Kenyans understand what it means by having responsible leaders of high integrity and who will be answerable to Kenyans,” said Mr Kebaso, through a statement released on Sunday.

Since it’s inception in August, 2024, ‘The Vampire Diaries’ successfully conducted a total of 27 civic education campaigns in various parts of the country.

He said The Vampire Diaries’ has grown to have a strong secretariat with a total of 23 permanent and salaried staff mainly security officials, researchers and data analysts and is further venturing into technology and innovation to attain its goals of transforming the country.

“The INJECT Party will act as an incubation chamber for future leaders full of integrity. Kenyans are tired and we will sweep clean many political seats including parliamentary and the presidential seat,” noted Kebaso.
