When rumours about my death surfaced the entire social media in the East African countries and beyond last week, as usual I ignored them since this is not the first time such things are happening to me.

However, when the calls started frequenting my mobile phone from allover the world until my phone went off, I realised this time round it was extremely serious situation that I should face it head on and leave the rest to God.

The rumours spread very fast until I had to come out and clear the air about my death. God loves and protect me, I am still alive.

I was not involved in any tragic road accident as it was reported and I have been spreading the Gospel to the believers of God, an assignment that I am performing to date.

This is not the first time people are spreading such malicious information about me and not only me but my sisters Rose Muhando and Bahati Bukuku have faced the same problem, but why?

Who is behind these baseless information?

Who wants me dead? I have not wronged anyone to an extent that they want me dead. Anyway we are all human being but I don’t recall any mistake that warrants my life.

Since I am a small person who depends on God and always put God first in whichever step I make, I have turn to God for his guidance and protection. However, am appealing to the authorities to investigate who is behind these uncalled for behaviours so that they are contained.

The information pained very many people around the world, people cried, they mourned, they were confused, some suffered psychological problems just because of an individual who for reasons best known to themselves decided to spread such unsubstantiated information about my death.

Hopefully the investigators will pursue all parties concerned. However, I thank and take this opportunity to assure my fans across the Globe that I Bonny Mwaitege is alive and very well going about with my daily assignments of preaching the Gospel through my songs.

In fact my new song about teachers and their struggles to mould us to the level we are today is in the pipeline. We have to appreciate our teachers for their dedication and seeing us growing!

Those were the exact words of a renowned, multi-talented Tanzanian Gospel artist, Boniface Patson Mwaitege, famously known as Bonny Mwaitege.

Bonny Mwaitege is famed for him top performing songs, Mama ni mama, Soma Mwanangu, Njoo ufanyiwe maombi among a range of well crafted Gospel songs.
