TV personality Ken Mijungu has responded to claims that Cape Media owned TV47 axed him barely a month after he joined the TV station.

Mijungu, a celebrated TV News reporter, Anchor and Current affairs show host said he needed time to reflect on his engagement with the company, a request that the Cape Media Human resource and Administration Manager Lillian Makandi approved.

“I secured a job at the Cape Media owned TV47 and signed agreement contract on January 31st. However, on February 21, I wrote a letter requesting for more time to reflect on my engagement with the company,” said Mijungu.

Cape Media wished Mr Mijungu well however, stated that the company would wish to engage the renowned journalist in future.

“We acknowledge receipt of your letter dated February 21, that you needed more time to reflect on your engagement with us. We accept your request, however, we would wish to engage with you in future possibilities,” read part of the Cape Media response to Mr Mijungu.

The Journalist cum Lawyer started his journalism career at the China Central Television (CCTV), now China Global Television Network (CGTN) in Nairobi, he later moved to Mediamax Limited owned K24 TV where he took the roles of a News reporter and also hosted The Business talk show.

He lasted for four years before he joined the Nation Media Group (NMG) as a senior News reporter, before he joined the Standard Group (SG) owned Television channel, KTN News before it was collapsed and the company retained KTN.

“I left KTN on contract matters. I did not renew my contract after four years at the Standard Group,” added Mijungu who hosted News and Current affairs programs on KTN.
