United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party has ousted its Secretary General Cleophas Malala replacing him with its Vice Chairperson Hassan Omar Hassan.
The EALA MP is taking the position on Acting capacity according to a statement released on Friday.
Hassan will also serve as the Party’s Vice Chairperson, a role he has played since the Party was formed.
There has been discomfort and cold wars within the ruling party with recent developments being one Joe Khalende raiding the UDA headquarters in Nairobi and announced himself the Secretary General.
This was after Malala was accusing of disintegrating the party plans and interfering with its political strategy including the ongoing grassroots elections which were stopped without any explanations.
The top party governing council arrived at expunging Malala and nominating Hassan who will be mandated to return the UDA vehicle on the road.
The political wrangles have been evident in the ruling party especially after the inclusion of opposition in the Kenya Kwanza government.
Barely a day ago, UDA Chairperson who is also Embu Governor Cecil Mbarire addressed the press urging the party top leadership to cease fireworks within the party and work towards implementing the Party strategy and enable the president to fully execute his mandate to the public.
Embu UDA offices were recently torched with members calling for the resignation of Mbarire, stating that she has failed in taking the party to greater heights and recruiting more members to the party.
The party is also working towards folding other affiliate parties including Chief Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi owned ANC so that the parties form one union within UDA.
