Former Tanzania’s President Ali Hassan Mwinyi is dead. Mwinyi died aged 98.
His demise was officially announced by Tanzania President Samia Suluhu Hassan.
Mwinyi was the second President of Tanzania from 1985-1995.
He succeeded the founding President Mwalimu Julius Nyerere.
On February 24, Mwinyi was hospitalised with chest related illness.
