Former NTV Swahili News Anchor Salim Swaleh has been arrested.
The soft spoken Former TV personality landed a plumb job at the Office of Prime Cabinet Secretary and Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs office as the Director of Communication.
According to a statement released by Prime CS Musalia Mudavadi’s office, Swaleh was arrested along another government official suspected to be engaging in fraud in the PCS office.
The statement further stated that the suspects were on Saturday nabbed inside Swaleh’s office and were wearing staff identity cards indicating it was issued by Mudavadi’s office.
The suspects including Swaleh were arrested on Saturday and the CID officials have acceleted the probe.
Mudavadi has warned of any public officer under his critical docket who will engage in corruption that he will not be spared.
