Fayaz FC were crowned champions of the 2025 Sisi Ni Dola Cup after edging Fetuwe FC 1–0 in a tightly contested final played at the Mombasa Sports Club.

The month-long tournament, sponsored by Dola Group, brought together 20 teams from Mombasa, Kilifi, and Kwale counties to promote youth participation in sports and nurture football talent across the Coastal region.

Fayaz FC clinched the top prize of KES 500,000, while runners-up Fetuwe FC took home KES 250,000. The third and fourth-placed teams received KES 100,000 and KES 50,000, respectively.

Speaking after the match, Fayaz FC head coach Shimai Fuad lauded his players’ resilience and tactical discipline throughout the competition.

“We started with a 4-3-3 formation but switched in the second half to push forward, and that’s when the winning goal came in the 76th minute,” Fuad said. “It was not an easy game because Fetuwe is a strong and experienced side, but our players showed great determination, and we’re proud of this victory.”

He also expressed gratitude to the organisers and sponsors for offering a platform for local footballers to showcase their skills.

“The Sisi Ni Dola Cup has been among the most competitive tournaments at the Coast. We appreciate the sponsors and hope for more opportunities like this to expose our talent,” he added.

Fayaz FC goalkeeper Jafar Sharif, who was named Best Goalkeeper after keeping a clean sheet throughout the tournament, credited teamwork and faith for his success.

“I thank God for the strength and my coach for the guidance,” he said. “This was a tough competition, but we stayed united and didn’t concede a single goal.”

Other top performers included Fayaz Bakers’ Hamid Mohamed, who was voted Most Valuable Player, Fadhil Jira of Congo Boys as Top Scorer, and Abdulwahab Jelle of Juve FC as Best Young Player. Each received KES 20,000, a trophy, and a medal.

During the closing ceremony, Dola Group Sports Manager Hassan Ibrahim congratulated the teams for their spirited performances and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to community development through sport.

“Through the Sisi Ni Dola Cup, we have witnessed young players from the Coast displaying discipline, creativity, and potential to compete in the Kenya Premier League and even beyond,” Ibrahim said.

“At Dola Group, we believe a good business uplifts the community. Investing in youth sports helps nurture talent, strengthen unity, and bring joy to our people,” he added.

Fayaz FC captain Ali Mzee Riada credited teamwork and fitness for their triumph.
“We worked hard on our conditioning and second-half intensity, and that made the difference,” he said.

Fetuwe FC’s representative, Said Bahresa, congratulated Fayaz FC and praised the organizers.
“The final was a tough match, but luck was on their side. We accept the result and thank Dola Group for supporting football in the region,” he said.

The 2025 edition of the Sisi Ni Dola Cup has been hailed as a unifying platform that continues to promote positive youth engagement and highlight Coastal Kenya’s growing influence in national football.
