Former Kisauni MP Ali Mbogo has urged parents to ensure their children report back to school on January, Monday 6, 2025.

Mbogo said despite the financial obstacles and a range of other economical challenges, parents should not lag behind and let their children loiter around the streets instead of being in school.

The politician who branded himself as education champion in Mombasa County through his Elimu Kwanza, (Education first) campaign said, education remains critical aspect and child’s inheritance.

Speaking in Matopeni area in Kongowea, Nyali Subcounty, Mbogo who is behind the Elimu Kwanza education campaign said education remains at the bottom of his heart, a reason why he has been working with parents and guardians to ensure children remain in school.

“We admit that most parents and guardians are going through difficult times, however, that should not form a reason why they should deny their children education. Let’s all unite and ensure our children return to school on Monday for their first term,” reiterated Mbogo.

Under the Elimu Kwanza education campaign, the former Legislature has been issuing bursaries, donations, school uniforms, both writing and text books among other education requirements to ensure needy students are in school.

Addressing Kongowea residents, the LAPSSET Authority Chairperson said education is a long term solution to insecurity, teenage pregnancies and recklessness among the youthful generation.

Let’s all embrace education and invest in it so that we build a strong foundation for our children’s future,” he added.

The children received both writing and text books among other school requirements from Mbogo for them to go back to school come Monday 6th.

Mbogo reiterated that his dream and zeal to battle it out for Mombasa Gubernatorial seat come 2027 general election remain on course.

“The moment we clinch the county’s top leadership, we will not be conducting Harambees and other contributions so that we foot for school fees. We will have a special budget every financial year to pay school fees for our students,” said Mr Mbogo.

He once again appealed to parents to always foreground their children’s education despite the financial constraints.

One of the beneficiaries parent, Amina Omar said, “We benefitted from bursaries and other scholarships when Mbogo was our Kisauni MP. These efforts have not stopped despite the fact that he is not the current MP. However, he remains our leader we dearly embrace, recognise and appreciate,”
