As Kenyans gear up to celebrate Madaraka Day, Coca-Cola is spreading smiles and forging unforgettable moments through its iconic ‘Share a Coke’ campaign—this time, reaching travellers across the country and into neighbouring Uganda.

In partnership with Easy Coach, over 1,000 travellers heading to western Kenya and Kampala are receiving two personalized Coke cans—one for themselves and another to share with family or friends. The gesture is designed to transform ordinary trips into shared, meaningful moments.

At Jambojet check-in counters, travellers flying to Mombasa, Ukunda, Malindi, and Kisumu are also being surprised with personalized Coke cans—creating a festive atmosphere from takeoff to landing.

Paul Oloo, Senior Communications Manager for Coca-Cola East and Central Africa Franchise, says the campaign is about more than just a beverage. “We’re turning everyday trips into memorable journeys filled with laughter, stories, and connection,” he noted.

Passengers flying with Jambojet to destinations like Mombasa, Ukunda, Malindi, and Kisumu are also in for a treat, as Coca-Cola surprises them at check-in counters with their own custom-labelled Coke cans—spreading delight from takeoff to landing.

“This Madaraka Day, Coca-Cola is taking the experience even further, bringing joy directly to travellers on the move,” read a statement shared with our newsroom on Friday.

The thoughtful gesture is lighting up both bus stations and airport terminals, turning what might be ordinary commutes into joyful, lasting memories.

The ‘Share a Coke’ campaign is also making waves along Kenya’s coast, reminding people that something as simple as a soda with a familiar name can brighten someone’s day.

Coca-Cola relaunched its global ‘Share a Coke’ campaign in Kenya this April, bringing back the popular concept of replacing its logo with popular first names on bottles and cans. The campaign originally debuted in 2011 and has been a global hit for encouraging consumers to connect through shared experiences.

This relaunch aims to connect with a new generation, especially Gen Z, who value meaningful, personalized experiences both online and in real life.

Nationwide activations are underway in malls, colleges, eateries, and public spaces, where consumers can engage in fun activities and get their own personalized Coke bottles.

Beyond physical locations, the campaign has gained traction on social media platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter), encouraging users to share their moments using the hashtag #ShareACoke.

Coca-Cola says the campaign is all about celebrating real-world connections in an increasingly digital world. Personalized Coke bottles and cans are now available in supermarkets, stores, and entertainment venues across Kenya.

Personalized bottles and cans are now widely available in supermarkets, stores, and entertainment venues countrywide.

The ‘Share a Coke’ campaign will continue running through the Madaraka Day season and beyond, uniting Kenyans through small gestures and shared moments.
