Passengers travelling through Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) were treated to an unexpected festive experience after Coca-Cola, in partnership with Kenya Airways, rolled out Christmas surprises both at the terminal and onboard a Nairobi–Mombasa flight.
Travellers bound for Mombasa were welcomed at the airport with Christmas gift hampers, transforming the usual departure hustle into a scene of cheer and celebration. The festive mood continued in the air when more gifts were handed out mid-flight, much to the delight of passengers.
Coca-Cola East and Central Africa Director of Frontline Marketing, Monique Katana, said the activation was meant to capture the spirit of the season and deliver joy in places where it is least expected.
“The festive season is about togetherness and sharing moments of happiness. Since many Kenyans travel during this period to be with their loved ones, we saw JKIA as the perfect place to create memorable experiences and spread cheer,” she said.

The activity is part of Coca-Cola’s 2025 Christmas campaign dubbed “The World Needs More Santas,” which seeks to inspire acts of kindness and generosity during the holiday season. The campaign highlights the power of small gestures in strengthening community connections.
Central to the initiative is the Coca-Cola Christmas Caravan, which has been traversing various parts of the country including Western Kenya, the Rift Valley and Nairobi. The caravan is now moving into other regions, delivering gifts and festive experiences to different communities.
As part of its Christmas outreach, Coca-Cola is distributing a range of items including sodas, chapati flour, fish, chickens and goats, turning everyday locations such as markets and residential areas into lively holiday hotspots.
Kenyans are also being encouraged to take part in the campaign by sharing personal “Santa moments” on Coca-Cola’s online platforms to promote kindness and goodwill this Christmas season.
