The Mombasa Archdiocese Archbishop noted that the fasting period is very important in the Catholic faithful calendar, urging every believers to abide by the holy teachings of the Bible.

During Lent, Catholic faithful will observe fasting during the day for forty days a period that will culminate with Easter where the faithful will celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ according to Catholic faith.
