August 7, 1998. 10.37am. A massive truck bomb exploded outside the U.S. Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya. Minutes later, another truck bomb detonated outside the U.S. Embassy in Dar es Salaam.

The dual terrorist attacks killed 224 and wounded more than 4,500.

Osama Bin Laden’s Al-Qaida terror group claimed responsibility for planning and executing the bombings.

It remains the darkest moment in the history of Kenya.
