Am contented with Joho, Mvurya’s cabinet nomination-Jumwa

Former Gender Cabinet Secretary Aisha Jumwa has reiterated that the nomination of Ali Hassan Joho and Salim Mvurya to the cabinet is in order.

Jumwa said he backs the two as Coast representatives to Kenya Kwanza cabinet and at no point does he criticise President William Ruto for the selection.

Speaking during Ruto’s Kilifi tour on Friday, Jumwa said the President knows what is the best decision for the country to move forward and that she will forever thank him for giving her the opportunity to serve in his cabinet for the past two years.

“I respect the President’s decision and I will back him in whichever step he makes since it is for the good of the country and all Kenyans,” she said.

According to Jumwa, she has entrusted Ruto all along and she will continue doing so to enable the President accomplish his agenda to Kenyans.

“I cannot see while standing what the President sees while sitting so I will always trust and work with him for the benefit of all Kenyans,” she said.

She appealed to the coastal people to back the Presidents’ move so that all the coastal people benefit from the Kenya Kwanza manifesto which is in the right direction.

Jumwa was dropped from the cabinet when Ruto sent this entire cabinet parking including the Attorney General Justine Muturi.

However, most of her colleagues have been reinstated to the cabinet that now features the opposition. Kilifi residents have been demanding for her reinstatement too.

Coalition Government

Joho, the ODM Deputy Party leader was nominated to head the Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs while his co-Deputy Party leader Wycliffe Oparanya was nominated to head the Cooperatives docket. Another ODM MP who is also the Minority leader at the National Assembly Opiyo Wandayi was picked for the Energy and Petroleum Ministry, while the Treasury went to ODM Chairperson who is also nominated MP, John Mbadi.

Former Mining CS Salim Mvurya was moved to head the Trade and Investments Ministry, subject to approval by the Parliament.

Aisha says the pick was at the best of President Ruto’s knowledge who is always focusing on development, peace of the country’s unity.

While addressing locals at Changamwe in Mombasa on Thursday evening, President Ruto said his cabinet is meant to unite all Kenyans and accelerate a progressive united nation.
