Africa’s air cargo industry is set for significant expansion, driven by increasing trade, booming e-commerce, and the continent’s vast potential. Industry leaders have gathered at the Sarit Expo Centre in Nairobi for the Air Cargo & Transport Logistics Africa 2025 conference, focusing on multimodal transport solutions across the region.

During a special address, Kenya Airways CEO and MD, Allan Kilavuka, emphasized the need for collaboration and innovation within the industry. He stated, As an industry, as an ecosystem, we need to work closely together, introduce innovation, and share a common vision to grow this sector—and, in turn, the economies of Africa. I appreciate the theme of this conference, ‘Primed for Growth Against All Odds.’ If we prioritize safety and tackle the challenges ahead, we have a real opportunity for growth.

Kilavuka also underscored the importance of sustainability, noting that Africa’s approach extends beyond environmental concerns to include economic, social, and governance aspects.

“Unlike Europe, where sustainability efforts focus primarily on the environment, Africa must take a broader perspective. A sustainable industry is crucial for growth, supporting an ecosystem that ultimately reinforces environmental sustainability. At Kenya Airways, our mission is to connect Africa’s people, cultures, and markets. Hosting this expo in Kenya aligns perfectly with that vision.”

The Air Cargo Africa conference returns to Kenya after 14 years, marking a key milestone for the global air cargo industry. The event has attracted over 60 exhibitors and 2,000 attendees, including industry leaders in air cargo, freight logistics, and supply chain management. The conference serves as a vital platform for networking, knowledge sharing, and fostering deeper engagement with key stakeholders—shippers, freight forwarders, integrators, e-tailers, consignees, importers, exporters, manufacturers, and logistics professionals.

Additionally, the event supports KQ Cargo’s strategic objectives by enabling direct engagement with its target market. Through this platform, KQ Cargo aims to strengthen partnerships, initiate new business discussions, and reinforce its position as the preferred air cargo provider across Africa and beyond. Leveraging the opportunities at Air Cargo Africa 2025, the airline is poised to accelerate its strategic growth and expand its footprint in the industry.
