Popular human rights defender Mwabili Mwagodi has been found dumped in Kinondo area, Diani Kwale County under unclear circumstances.
According to his family, he was discovered by locals and was rushed to Pandya memorial hospital in Mombasa for urgent medical treatment.
His personal belongings, including his mobile phone and other valuables, were missing at the time he was found.
The emaciated Mwagodi could not immediately explain what transpired.
“We are still trying to understand what exactly happened and who may have been behind the incident,” said one of the family members at the Pandya private hospital.
